The AI uses the student's real qualification, exam board, course, level and exam year.
XYSHIMA does not treat labels such as “Physics” or “Mathematics” as the same course for everyone. It can use the qualification, exam board, course code, SL/HL or course version, exam year and topic structure before creating a quick check, quiz or tutoring session.
SPECIFICATION ENGINE
Clear course facts, not copied specification documents.
XYSHIMA stores short course details such as official codes, topics, skills, level, assessment structure and version notes. It does not copy full exam-board specification text. Each built-in course map also shows whether it has been checked in detail or whether the student's uploaded official syllabus should be trusted first.
Version-aware
When exam boards change a syllabus over time, XYSHIMA can use the student's exam year to choose the right version instead of assuming one syllabus lasts forever.
Checked vs broad course map
The tutor is told when a course map has been checked in detail and when it is only a broad map. It should not claim exact coverage when that checking is incomplete.
Official syllabus override
A student can upload the current official specification or syllabus. Information from that document is then used as the main source for exact course details.
Exam-board choices are built into course selection.
XYSHIMA supports the main exam boards used by its current school subjects, and course details can be updated as specifications change.
GCSE
AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas, WJEC and CCEA are represented in the board layer. Verified subject records include official codes where they have been checked; remaining records stay explicitly marked as broad-scope until their official specification is verified.
IGCSE / International GCSE
Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel International course identifiers are supported for the current science, mathematics and economics subject families.
AS & A Level
AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas, WJEC, CCEA and Cambridge International can be selected. Cambridge syllabus windows are exam-year aware where known.
International A Level
Pearson Edexcel International modular unit identifiers are represented so the AI can distinguish an International Advanced Level pathway from a UK linear A Level.
IB · AP · SAT SUITE
Course variants are separated instead of collapsed into generic labels.
IB Diploma
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Economics are available as SL and HL variants. Mathematics is separated into Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation, each at SL and HL.
AP
AP Physics 1, Physics 2, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics are represented as distinct courses.
SAT Suite
SAT, PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 use the College Board Reading & Writing and Math domain/skill structure, while PSAT 8/9 has its own lower-level Math scope where the framework differs.

Before the AI creates a quick check, explanation, quiz or flashcards, XYSHIMA includes the qualification, exam board, course code, version, exam year, topic map and assessment notes. A checked course map tells the AI what to stay inside; if the map is broad, the AI should avoid claiming exact coverage and prefer an uploaded official specification when needed.
Quick checks stay course-specific
Questions are generated against the selected course rather than a generic subject. The result then helps XYSHIMA understand which topics and mistakes need attention.
Future updates are isolated
Course records are kept separately, so a revised syllabus can be updated without rebuilding the tutor or the rest of the app.
LANGUAGES
Course details and teaching language are separate.
Students can choose English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Tamil, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese or Malay while retaining the selected qualification's official terminology, notation and course identifiers.
